N&M on EXPO 2020 Dubai and Beyond

Neumann&Müller Event Technology, one of the leading event technology service providers, is strengthening its presence in semi-permanent and permanent AVL system integration aiming towards EXPO 2020 Dubai and other international installation projects - the topic of discussion at the Middle East Special Event & Exhibition Show this year.

While this paves the way for additional market segments, it reinforces the rental side of the business, focusing on building a long-term partnership with clients from the concept phase through to the operation and maintenance stages.

"We understand us as a turnkey partner for design & build services", said N&M's Business Unit Manager, Felix Erdmann. "We want to utilise our expertise and knowledge in this field and be a partner to our clients from the initial concepts until final implementation and operation.

N&M was responsible for the technical implementation of five impressive pavilions including the Astana Sphere, Energy Best Practice, Shell, Austrian and German pavilions at the EXPO 2017 Astana, in Kazakhstan. The responsibilities included planning, project managing, delivering, installing, commissioning and maintaining high-end AVL systems.

The eight floors of the "Astana Sphere" - the world's largest self-supporting glass sphere - was connected by the "Wall of Future". N&M realized this architectural element with more than 800 55" displays and created a 360° projection in the interior with innovative laser projectors. The first-class impression of the German pavilion was accentuated by special installation luminaires and bespoke products, which were transported to Astana in five trailers.

For the "Energy Best Practice" pavilion a custom-made control system was developed and planned in-house. The brief also included providing technical support for Shell's presentation as well as for the Austrian pavilion with its minimalistic design.

Erdmann added, "We are now receiving enquiries for interesting and complex projects worldwide and because of this, we are establishing a global operation to be closer to our clients".

Heading this new business unit is Felix Erdmann himself with the support of Jens Gießler, who is a senior partner of the company. They both managed all five major projects in Astana for the EXPO. Erdmann will be based in Dubai overseeing international operations of this business unit. He will be speaking at the MESE Live seminar on the 23rd April at 15:15 to 16:15 during the Middle East Special Event & Exhibition Show at the Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. The speech is about delivering high-end AVL integrations for EXPO projects pointing out the scale and complexity of the projects they have been working on in Astana as well as discussing how contractors, builders and planners can prepare for the EXPO 2020 Dubai.
