Under normal circumstances, over 2,000 participants come to Cologne in the early summer of each year to attend Germany's largest event for the TV and moving image sector. The event combines elaborate program screenings by TV marketing companies and TV channels with an accompanying congress agenda.
For the lead event in 2021, Screenforce opted for a new, virtual format dubbed "out of the box", transmitted as a four-day live program from the streaming studio we have realised at bauwerk.köln.

One highlight at N&M's partner venue is the "event boxes", which are mobile, individual room elements. At Screenforce Days, these event boxes served as ideal platforms from which to transmit pre-produced screenings as well as keynote speeches, discussions and specialist presentations on the latest research findings and developments in the sector.
The result was a comprehensive agenda lasting two hours each morning and afternoon, and followed at peak times by around 2,600 live viewers.

For the streaming studio, we devised ways of optimising lighting, audio and video for live transmission. Live moving images were recorded by three camera systems and a steadicam, then combined with previously recorded material by means of fast cuts. For this purpose, we also produced corresponding content at the Bauwerk Köln location in the days leading up to the event.

To ensure the perfect live experience, N&M's Digital Live Event team programmed a website in Screenforce design on the basis of our come2join digital platform. This allowed viewers to follow the livestream and get involved with the aid of interactive modules.
