Sysmex Fair Stand – „Medlab Exhibition & Congress“, Dubai/UAE

We were commissioned to plan and realise the lighting design and media technology for Sysmex Europe, a manufacturer of laboratory diagnostic systems, on its stand at the "Medlab" trade fair. The world's largest fair for laboratory and diagnostic systems took place in February 2017. After a period of 15 years, this was the first time it had been held separately from "Arab Health".

Thanks to experience gathered from many other fairs at the Convention & Exhibition Centre, our colleagues from the Dubai branch office are very familiar with the local conditions and were able to provide our Cologne office, which was responsible for executing the project, with a sound basis for its planning. The fact that we are represented with our own office in the United Arab Emirates also brought wide-ranging benefits to Sysmex during the realisation phase: high-quality equipment is available from our own storage facility and skilled technicians are on hand, thus reducing the client's logistics effort and expenses immensely. At the same time, our technicians ensured that Sysmex's trade fair presence was executed with the same level of quality as here in Germany.

Our tasks included illuminating the 120 square-metre stand and its exhibits with daylight spotlights (4,200 kelvins). We selected 500-watt Fresnel tungsten lights to provide the right atmosphere for the lounge and meeting area covering 45 square metres on the second floor of the stand. We also made sure of uniform and sufficient lighting of the company banner, which was visible from a great distance. Eight wash lights on the rig accentuated the stand and the presentation of the products while also creating lighting effects at regular intervals to draw visitors' attention to the Sysmex booth. Indirect wall illumination in the Sysmex corporate design was provided by SL stripes installed on the floor.

Sysmex and our technicians cooperated in the programming of the content for interactive applications on 40-inch touchscreens at the three terminals, which provided visitors to the fair with comprehensive product information. We also installed an 84-inch display on one wall of the stand along with four smaller displays to show the entire Sysmex portfolio.
