Evonik presented itself to its shareholders in energy-saving LED light

Düsseldorf

N&M was responsible for the sound, video, light and rigging for the 2015 AGM of the speciality chemicals enterprise in the Grugahalle in Essen.

Evonik Industries AG set a good example for sustainability at its 2015 AGM: the speciality chemicals enterprise became one of the first M-DAX-companies to present itself to its shareholders in energy-saving LED light. The enterprise commissioned the Dusseldorf office of Neumann&Müller Veranstaltungstechnik to realize the technical concept for the AGM in Essen's Grugahalle in the middle of May. Besides providing the lighting for the shareholder meeting, which was implemented exclusively with LED technology, project manager Alexander Wolf's team was also responsible for the sound, video and rigging.

Benjamin Sill was the technical manager in charge of lighting and rigging. In collaboration with the trussco planning office, he created a lighting concept that envisaged the use of LED moving lights for the coloured surfaces as well as pure-white versions for the rim lighting. In addition, LED profilers were installed for the lecterns and Fresnel lenses for the stage. "One of the highlights," according to Benjamin Sill, "was that we were able realise the basic lighting for the entire hall floor space accommodating the audience with energy-saving technology. We fulfilled this task with 200 of our new LED Fresnel lenses." The resource-conserving lighting concept was one of the technical factors that helped to achieve a 70-percent power saving at the AGM, and it also meant that we were able to keep the temperature pleasantly low on stage as Evonik's executive board had requested.
